Virtual volunteer opportunity
The Greater Dayton School is seeking family volunteers with kid(s) ages 5-7 to participate in virtual teacher demonstration lessons. This is a fun and educational volunteer opportunity for families.
Volunteer families commit to having their kids participate in two virtual teacher demonstration lessons per month during non-school hours from the comfort of their own home on a computer or tablet device. Lessons last 20-30 minutes and are on the topics of math, reading, art, music, social and emotional learning, and physical education.
World class professional teachers will perform demonstration lessons for our volunteer students. Lessons will be highly engaging and fun for the kids.
Why are we doing this?
In short, The Greater Dayton School is committed to hiring the best teachers in the country to teach kids from under-resourced communities in Dayton, Ohio. Since we’re still building the school, we need to assess demonstration lessons to ensure our teacher applicants are top-notch.
Our school principal, AJ Stich, will organize and supervise the virtual demonstration lessons. He has over 7 years of principal experience in Chicago Public Schools, and he has a master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Parents/Guardians are welcome to supervise and watch the demonstration lessons along with their child. All volunteers will receive a token of our appreciation on behalf of The Greater Dayton School.
