ABOUT GDS
Connor Wellness Center
GDS is more than just a school; it is our students’ healthcare home and provides a vast array of on-site services
Convenient care
The Connor Wellness Center, located on the campus of The Greater Dayton School, is our students’ healthcare home. This facility, operated through a partnership with Dayton Children’s Hospital and other providers, provides services that include: primary care, behavioral health, speech therapy, occupational therapy, dental care, vision care and vaccinations.
Long-term outcomes
Our students and families develop long-term, positive relationships with our trusted healthcare providers, who understand the unique needs of the children we serve. And our staff:
- schedules all our students appointments (well visits, follow-ups, consultations, etc.)
- handles billing
- answers questions
- helps our families navigate the often confusing healthcare system.
The entire model is predicated on developing our students into physically and mentally healthy adults.
Wellness visits
By the numbers: Ten out of 10 GDS students completed their annual medical and dental appointments compared to five out of 10 of their low-income peers.
